Texas Direct Auto
In Missouri City, Texas....anyone ever bought from them? They seem to have some decent deals on C5's, but their review on yahoo are less than stellar. Any experience with them? Thanks!

I bought an 04 from them back in Feb. '08. It had low mileage and a good price. I originally was going to have them finance it, but ended up getting financing cheaper through my CU.
I'm happy with my decision.

You seriously need to check these people out on the Better Business Bureau. They have some serious negatives. There are also many lawsuits filed against them. I had a friend try and buy a car from them and he wanted to go and see the car. He was not allowed too. They say they only do internet sales and have a policy to not let people see the cars. Cars are bought "sight unseen" for a reason. BEWARE!

They're just like any high-volume used car dealer. They buy them at auction, fix them up, then sell them as-is. I wouldn't take their word on any car. Check it out completely and run a carfax.
BTW I picked up my C5z from a private owner in Dallas. Houston / Dallas seem to have the best prices.

I bought my 97 from them 11/07 and I had no problems with Texas Direct -- but I live in Houston and was able to go see it first - don't think I would have bought it otherwise. Only place I know of that I'd trust for sight-unseen is Corvette Palace in Austin.

I had a guy in San Anton. watching the auctions for me. I found a private seller before he could find something though. He charges a set fee on top of the auction price. PM me if you want more info.

When I was looking for my Z06 last year, I tried to contact them several times to make appointments to look at two of them, an '07 and an '08. I could never get a hold of anyone and they never called me back. I've heard some positive experiences, but mostly negative.

Thanks for the replies fellas! I truly appreciate the input. I found a car and want to get some opinions. It is a 2002 Coupe with 25k miles on it. It has cat back exhaust (can't remember what kind), a halltech cold air system and a c6 ZO6 shifter. It appears to be very clean. It has a clean carfax but has had 5 owners. He is asking 22.9k for it. Good deal or not? What should I expect to pay for that? Thanks a lot!

Can you get the VIN#? An '02 coupe is pretty generic. I'd be curious to see what factory options it had before making any judgement calls on price.
As for owners, that's a lot for an '02, but on the flip side my 2008 Z08 had 5K miles on it when I bought it, and I'm the third owner. 25K miles with 5 owners doesn't surprise me the way things have been going lately with the economy and employment rates. If I ever got into a bind, my Vette would be the first thing to go since it's my largest, non-essential asset.
I checked KBB, and private party book value on a loaded '02 with 25K miles in excellent condition is just under $22K. I'd offer $19K-$20K and negotiate from there if it were a car I was interested in.

Heh... Just for fun I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead. Was looking at a note I had trying to get the VIN for my truck and I still had my old Corvette's VIN in that same note... so into Google it went. Gixxer1k, that's my old car... did you end up buying it? I wish I'd never sold that car... I'd still own it today, but we had a baby that forced the sale. I loved that car... was bone stock when I got it. I did the exhaust (GHL bullets), the C6Z shifter, and the Halltech Venom intake. Fun to find it here via google.

If you buy a car from Texas direct Pay someone to look it over I have seen alot of cars that have been wrecked come from their even though they have a clean car fax.
