We're going to be down in San Antonio assisting with Operation Comfort again that day. I hope this event turns out very well.

Talked to a couple of other folks last night. I think we will buy food as our donation. The cooking team can cook and sell it. We will donate the proceeds to buy toys.

I'll call you this evening.

You can polish a turd, in the end it's still a turd. New nickname for jason = RPOS. Here's a pic of his toilet in the new house:

Ya, but I'm the best smellin' turd you ever smelt. Besides, who let you in to take the picture?

Thanks to Tremor, we have a chef with wood and cooking equipment lined up. I have sent a request to a company in Georgetown who loans smokers to borrow one of theirs. My brother in law who lives in Round Rock and has a big diesel truck will pick it up and bring it to Camp Mabry. Jason, Geo and I will chip in to buy food and donate the proceeds of the sale to T4T.

Does anyone have a backup plan for a smoker just in case?

Cozmo,
I can chip in also if you need it. Just let me know how much. My Wife, Son and I will most likely be helping the chef with the food. Are the usual NCCA suspects gonna be there with their cars? I will be there with mine. Also wondering if someone has a friend at one of the local TV or radio stations to help with the promotion of this event.

Yes, the usual players should be there. I haven't been taking/posting a head count as we usually only do this for restaurants. I'll let you know if we need help with the food.

This is also posted on some other car boards. There will be some nice high end Euro sports cars there as well as some Vipers. Jason is working on the promotion. Maybe he can chime in on that.

Larry, Jason, I'm off work this coming Friday. Let me know if you want to get together. Where do you intend to buy the food? Just need to wash my car in the morning...

Alabama....

I contacted some local news stations about a month ago and they told to get back with them a few days before the event. I will call them this week.

Cozmo,
We have purchased eight toys for the tots. It sounds as if you have the food purchasers lined up.

Do you have any details on logistics, etc? What time to arrive? Which gate to use?

We have some friends who have a new 2010 Camaro they're pretty proud of. Can they attend if they bring some toys to donate?

Thanks,
Colin & Joni

Hey Colin,
I don't have any problem with your friends in a Camaro coming to the show. Jason has been communicating with the folks at Camp Mabry. I asked him to chime in with the details.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Will this event still be going on a little past 2 pm? I work on Saturday's till 2, and I would really like to attend. I work less than 10 minutes from Camp Mabry, and would really like to donate, as well as stop by and check out the cars. I left my C6Z at the Houston house when I got an apartment in Austin, but I have my procharged 427cid '88 here that I can bring by!

Let me know!
