Austin NCCA December 12th Event, Camp Mabry Toys 4 Tots
The NCCA (Non Club Club of Austin) is a group of people who like high end cars and like to have fun. We have no official officers, no official members and no dues. www.nccaustin.com
Sorry for the late notice on this event. Jason (1 BAD ZR1) has been working with the folks at Camp Mabry to host a Toys for Tots event. It looked like the event had been canceled due to the tragic events at Fort Hood. We were asked yesterday if we could do a show/gathering on December 12th. They have a lot of soldiers who will be deploying to Afghanistan and would like us there to help give them a nice send off as well as gather toys for the children.
Here are the details that we know so far. Saturday, December 12th at 11:00AM informal car show and shine at Camp Mabry in Austin TX. Please bring an unwrapped toy or toys. They will have some military artillery there which might make for some nice photo opportunities.
We have a chef/cook who has volunteered to grill some some hot dogs, burgers, sausage wraps and maybe more. Food will be available for donations. All donations will go to Toys For Tots.
I will post more information as it becomes available.

Take 35th street west of Mopac. The turn right onto Maintenance drive. Tell the guard you are there for Toys for Tots (you must tell them this)
Proceed until the road T's into another, turn right. I think in about 100 yards the road will Y off, turn right. This road will take straight in to the parking lot of those iconic warehouses. Park and enjoy.
I look forward to seeing you there.

I'm glad this event has finally come together. This took a lot of talk an work to make happen. So lets make this event a big one and one not to forget. It's for the kids too and for the soldiers deploying to Afghanistan. I'm really looking forward to this. Ask all your friends to donate a toy so you can bring it to the event. Hopefully we can find someone to bring a pit to to help cook some food for us. I was thinking of one of those pits on a trailer.

Thanks Tremor. I live in Oak Hill and will have a lot going on that day. I have a truck but won't have time to go to G-Town to pick it up. I'll try to line up one of those and maybe get help from someone as a backup plan. Meanwhile, we are still looking for someone who can bring one.

We'll Participate.
Joni & I will be happy to participate. We can't provide a grill or smoker, but we will be willing to donate some hamburger patties, hot dogs, Earl Campbell Hot Links, buns, etc.
If the weather is good, we'll drive both of our Corvettes. If it's like today we will probably come in my truck. In either event, we will bring some toys for the tots. Let us know about a possible food donation.

A coworker of mine is also a cookoff team member. I told him about this event and he indicated he would be willing to do the cooking if we had the pit there. I have had the pleasure of eating some of his cooking and he definitely knows what he's doing. I believe he has the wood on hand also. Let me know and I will put you in touch with him. I will PM you guys my cell#.

BTW, I plan on working in Georgetown on Wednesday. I'll be right down towards the town square at the EMS HQ building. If you're anywhere around that area we could meet for lunch.
