Default Winstar--Service Road--Only in Oklahoma

If you go to Winstar Casino, across the Red River, off 35, be careful with the service road entrance to Winstar.

On one side, in front of the Bar b Que restaurant(NB), the speed limit sign reads 35 mph, however, if you walk DIRECTLY across the street and facing the opposite way(SB) the speed limit sign reads 45mph.

The same Oklahoma Highway Patrolman is writing alot of tickets there...he has found a nest egg on that service road.

I approached him, after a traffic stop he had made with another vehicle, and asked him what he enforced as a speed limit and he said "35 in front of businesses and 45 anywhere else on the service road".

I pointed out the obvious decrepancy of the 45 and 35 signs in front of the restaurant and it was "duh" front that point on.

Only in Oklahoma !

What's so strange? One direction you're entering the reduced speed area, the other direction you're leaving the reduced speed area. Like entering or leaving a town.

He wants to get them before they lose all their money at the casino.

I'd think Winstar would be raising Hell about harassing their customers.

Oh well. just so he's on the service road and not I-35 went I go thru to OKC.

He is writing tickets on the service road entrance to Winstar(east side of 35). The officer had just finished writing a 70-75 y o man a ticket(could have been a warning) but the man did not looked to be driving that fast.
Do not know what the officer was using for a speed limit sign since both signs are directly across from each other.

He did acknowledge that he was unaware of this descrepancy and both of us agreed it was the fault of the highway department.

He is using the color of your license plate to make that decision...

The problem is the 45mph sign is a few feet before the 35mph on the opposite side and not past it.
