According to West's last wishes, he donated his body for medical research at UTSW.
There are no plans for a funeral or memorial service.
A celebration gathering will be planned in the near future.

It would be very appropriate for all those who enjoyed West's company at Rosa's to meet there as a tribute to a great guy.

Great turnout...a bit dampened by the recent loss of our good friend but nice to see everyone, Stan Hoover stopped by in West's Dodge truck...recognized immediately ...to make sure we were up to date.
As we say over and over about this gathering ...it isnt about the cars..it's about the people and I am grateful to have each of you in my life..

West had this in his room until the end. Thanks for remembering him as friend and taking the time to share your fun with him. I can image him leading a group over to see who had showed up in what and what was new!

We spent a lot of time chatting about cars, planes and our shared issues with diabetes among other things. He was a genuine good guy, generous with his time and talents and will be missed for sure.
RIP...roll-on with the tops off!

We lost another Greatest Generation WWII Vet Friday, my Dad.
Not been a great week for me.
I look forward to seeing you guys again when I get back in town. You are a great bunch of guys/gals.

Rand (West's brother) and Kathy are planning this rememberance gathering for the 15th of August at 6 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend, but they would like to have a good head count for room determination and having an adequate smörgåsbord on hand.
Please post here in this thread if you are planning to attend. I will check back on occasion and keep them up to date on the count.
Kathy would also like for everyone (including the ladies) to attend in their best traditional West casual - by wearing your favorite Hawaiian shirt!
Come and celebrate West, as he requested to be remembered - with planes and cars - surrounded by his family and friends.
