MY C5 Caravaggio Hardtop, Albuquerque
Wanted one of these for years, but ended up finding another option about a month after finally getting this. The MY paint is in very good condition and is probably a 97% or so match. There are a few small paint chips that have been touched up underneath the glass on the very edge on the back of the top. The weatherstrip is in good shape as well. Front latches the same as the stock soft top, the rear latches with something similar to rear C5 targa latch, there's one on each side that attach to a bracket that you bolt in to the seat belt bolts. The inside is black and has a headliner about the size of the C5 targa and the rest is black gel coat. If you haven't read about them on the caravaggio website, it's partial fiberglass and carbon fiber, their site says 31# and it is possible to remove by yourself (although I wouldn't suggest it). The only bad thing (always a catch, right?) the IDIOT window tinter was trying to get the bottom passenger corner to stay down and the Idiot (did I mention IDIOT!?) used a torch and then sprayed with water which cracked the outer most portion of the laminate glass. It didn't crack the inner portion. I had a 1.5" piece or so of black vinyl put on the bottom of the glass which still somewhat matches the black "framing" of the glass, the vinyl hides the issue very well, and to the average person there's nothing wrong with it and from about 5 feet or so away, nobody will even notice the vinyl. The crack didn't go into the visible portion of the glass and I really don't think it's possible for it to spread and being a laminate, I don't think it is possible for it to leak. It has 5% tint on it, and doesn't have the yellow Jake decal anymore either. Because of the issue with the glass the price is $1750. Prefer local sale, not because of weight, but because of size. My father sometimes travels between Albuquerque and western KY and may be possible for him to take it with him if you live somewhere along I40 or I44/64.
