That is great! Also jump into the NCCO at the same time. We are all about all Vette Clubs no matter where they are!

I am here in Lawton but am not on facebook. I am interested in this group. I can also vouch for the great folks in the NCCO and it is a great organization that helps out those in need as well.

WOW I am beginning to wonder if there is such a club as SWOCC. I have tried to contact jaga with no response. Not a good start for a club trying to get started.

Medicine Park Street Rod, Muscle Car, & Classic Car Show - THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19

For those who want to cruise to this show together, we're going to meet at the Country Corner gas station at the Hwy 62 Cache/Hwy 115 exit on the north side of Hwy 62. We'll meet at 8:00 a.m. and leave for Medicine Park by 8:10 a.m. Let me know if you plan to join us.

Feel free to come later if this is too early for you. We'll get the best spots we can and do what we can to help late arrivals get a parking spot with us if possible. It's going to be a beautiful fall day, so get your Corvettes all shined up and join us if you can!

Here's a link to show information: http://www.theoldplantationrestauran...lantatiod.html

I just sent the following event email to 12 email addresses, which means our group is growing! I can't wait to meet those of you I haven't met yet!

If you're going to the Medicine Park show tomorrow, it looks like it will be a cold morning, but the sun will warm things up for us and we should see temps in the 50s by 11 a.m., then in the 60s after 1 p.m.

I still plan on being at the Country Corner gas station at the Hwy 62 Cache/Hwy 115 exit on the north side of Hwy 62 at 8:00 a.m. If you're hard core enough to join us at that time, text me in the morning if you want to confirm that we are indeed meeting there at 8:00 a.m. I'm going to check the roads at 7:00 a.m. because I don't want to drive out there if the roads are wet. I expect the good old Oklahoma wind to dry them off by then, but I know that if you have your Corvette show ready, you won't want to get on the roads if they are wet.

My number is (804) 370-7354, so text or call any time after 7:00 a.m. to confirm. And for those who may want to come out later after it warms up some, feel free to join us in Medicine Park at your leisure.

Oh, and if you're still on the fence about coming to the show, let me give you a little nudge...there will definitely be a 2014 Corvette Stingray there! Come check out the all new C7 Corvette!

Hope to see you soon!

Milo Gordon Mazda is hosting a car show this Saturday, October 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

I spoke with Brady Wyatt, General Sales Manager, about the show. He said 3 best of show (people's choice) awards that will be given. Since their pre-Halloween costume contest is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., he said that is when most of the voting will take place. There will also be free candy and a free entertainment (jump house/face painting/ect.) for the kids.

If you would like to participate in the show and would like to go over to the show as a group, then meet me at 9:45 a.m. at Advance Auto at the intersection of Cache Road and Sheridan Road in Lawton. We will leave from there by 9:55 a.m., arriving at Milo Gordon together right at 10:00 a.m. Of course, you are welcome to go on over earlier if you want, and you can stay as long or as little as you want.

One final thought. Right now, various forecast sources are calling for 30% to 50% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday. For a group, I don't like making a call on participation based on the weather until the morning of an event. If the weather situation is questionable that morning, I will post something here, on facebook, and send out an email as well. You can also text or call me at (804) 370-7354 if you want.

Hoping for good weather and a good Corvette representation!

It looks like the meteorologists were right about today, unfortunately. But in the grand scheme of things, the rain is needed so I won't complain too much. However, plans regarding my participation in the car show at Milo Gordon Mazda have changed.

I just got off the phone with Brady Wyatt, General Sales Manager at Milo Gordon Mazda, and they are still having the show and costume contest. If any of you still plan to attend, feel free to still meet at Advanced Auto at 9:45 a.m., or to arrive at Milo Gordon Mazda at your own leisure. I am bringing my kids out for the costume contest, and if the weather situation changes later this morning, I may bring my Corvette to the show as well. If I don't see you today, I hope you have a great weekend!

Watch for information about other upcoming SWOCC events, and if you have an idea for an event or know of an event that we should participate in, please let me know and I will put the word out.

The NCCO has invited us to their Toys for Tots Toy Drive on Sunday, November 17. The event will take place at Rudy's BBQ in Norman and begins at 4:00 p.m.

We will meet at the Advance Auto at the Cache Road and Sheridan Road intersection at 2:15 p.m. and be on the road by 2:30 p.m.

Bring one, two, or a car load of new, unwrapped toys to help make Christmas special for some less fortunate children.

We will meet, check out a lot of really awesome Corvettes, eat, and then head back to Lawton when we're finished. Put it on your calendar and plan on having a good time!
