Yeah I was just tipped off to the post as well. I just posted as I've told everyone verbally (and I didn't know who you were) that your car was quick and it was close. No shame, you and they just have hard feelings. Sucks.
When you and I formally met I had no idea about the animosity between the groups. Actually it was you who quickly pointed out they were flawed. If you recall our conversation I responded that I've been around car people long enough to know there are good people and sometimes bad on both sides of a split. You continued to run them down. That was poor judgement on your part considering they are my friends and one is even a neighbor. In fairness I now realize they trash talk you as well and that is wrong. Lurk their thread and you will see I told them I don't like or agree with that.
I met some of the people in your group and thought they were great. I think the same of the other group. I would personally rather see a larger united group...though perhaps that isn't best and besides harder to manage.
However as far as who pulled who down Midway, I purposely let you hit it first and pulled by you. You know this happened. I get beat every once and a while and actually get a kick out of it, and always admit it. Your guys behind us saw my tail kick out and then I caught traction and went by. We are actually a good run and I'm on record saying that. But never the less I was pulling you.
Talk is cheap and I run my car hard often. I raced Runway Rivalry today and I will be happy to meet for a dig race on the street, the 1/8th mile track at Northstar or the 1/4 mile track at Ennis. If you prefer a roll I have a nice spot in nearby Mexico, your call on the starting speed. It will be fun.
My car traps over 130mph in the 1/4 and puts down right at 700rwhp. The few Vette's faster than me today at RR2 had F1 blowers and one was a healthy 427 with heads, cam and a stout nitrous system (oh and Matt's nitrous C5 was faster too). I took out a very quick CTS-V (ran 10.30's at the Motorplex) by four or five lengths. Cars slower than me included two 911 Turbo's, A McLaren, a GTR, a Hellcat and a whole slew of Vipers. You getting pulled by my black C6 is no shame and not a fluke. Again you ran good, but I ran harder.
I'm OK with the gutter lane too

I had to laugh when one of our members told me that a certain thread had posted up about a black C6 and a red C5 on the Forest Ln cruise afternoon on Midway Rd, and that the black C6 had won, The member was behind the tango and said the blk C6 punched it first then the red C5 punched it and because the black C6 had pulled in front by 10 ft due to the early punch he claims the win all though they were neck and neck and the red C5 was gaining but had to shut down due to the outer gutter lane he was in was tossing him all over the road Some claim to fame for the C6

Well thanks Rick, Guess my memory of how it played out isn't as good,,that's okay, I don't mind getting beat in a equitable setting I figured you were about 50 RWHP ahead of me but I did have to keep letting off as I hit the dips where the gutters in my lane were. We have a couple cars in my group that are over my RWHP which I have lost to and I grin and bare it because they are good people as you seem to be.
Oh, and the conversation we had, if you remember, I only said; "I'm sorry" when you said you had hung with them, no trash mouth at all from me about that group nor when you mentioned a particular friends name, there was no comment from me, however that is when the conversation ended and I said we will catch you later.
No hard feelings toward you, but them, let's just say I know them well and they will always be that way
Thanks for the run, I'm sure we will cross intersections again someday. Happy motoring to you

still here and brake question
Yes, it's been a while since I have been out. It seems like the kids sports keep getting in the way. Somehow the coaches like to schedule games and practices on Sunday afternoons. HOPEFULLY I will get out to see everyone soon.
I need to do a break job on my '98 C5. Can anyone recommend pads and rotors? The car does not get tracked or driven hard and is hardly driven since I work at home. I was looking at the packages from Brakemotive brakes because of the cost but have heard mixed reviews about them.
I also thought about purchasing a package from KNS Brakes. They have a few packages I was looking at.
Centric Premium rotors with Hawk HPS 5.0 for $382
Centric Premium rotors with Hawk Premium Ceramics for $385
Centric Premium rotors with Hawk High Performance Street for $376
Centric Premium rotors with StopTech Street for $282
If you have any other suggestions let me know. Maybe a good deal on some slotted rotors and good pads.
I have never looked at brakes for my car so I was looking for some feedback from some of you that have used some of these before.
Thanks,
Mike

Myself and Dalton both have the BrakeMotive rotors and pads on our C5Z's and they work just fine. I've had them on for just over 1 year (about 6,000 miles), tracked my car and driven the Twisted Sisters (hard) since I put them on and have had no issues or notions of fade. Just bed them correctly after the install and you'll be golden.
Let me know if you want some help swapping everything once you decide on a set

I have drilled and slotted Z06 Titanium coated rotors and I use NAPA's Premium Brake pads. No issues with them at all and they are pretty reasonable I thought. What I like about the Titanium is, they never show any sign of rust so they always look nice and clean.
Vann suggestion is great as well Hope this helps.
Looking forward to seeing you soon Stop by the house sometime, I know you are not far from me
