Default Texas front plate law changed 9/1 - $200 fine

In case you missed it, they put the teeth back in the front plate law. Effective Sept 1st, 2014.

Stupid legislature.

This is actually old news, went into effect last year. Sept 1 2013 . Our Collin County Corvette Club, had a Mod party last year, after we found out the fines would have a $200 ticket attached to them.. We took aftermarket Clear front plate covers (West Coast Corvettes sells them) and painted them with the factory color. looks pretty good,, still sucks though... Just another reason for cops to pull you over late at night..

This is what we did.. Toque has a write up somewhere on here... Basically the cover is clear and you can order on-line, then we did a template, ordered the factory color code spray paint, Painted the inside.. Front plates suck, but this option is pretty darn good.. Still have the solid blue plate cover the car came with, so I can change it out pretty easily..

Been pulled over once for it in the last 2 years. Stuck the front plate on the car, took a picture, and mailed it to the court house. Case dismissed and front plate came off again.

other than the fact they get kick backs $$$$ from the people who sell the plate blanks what the hell does it matter? if they are following you trying to get your info, then they are behind you reading your rear plate. how many cars have your ever past going the oppisite way at 60mph and you were able to get their entire plate #? stupidist thing ever. single plate till i die FTW!!!
