Who's going from Tucson area? I'm planning on leaving saturday morning around 5 am. Anyone want to caravan up there? I'm bringing my C2.

With 100% chance of rain and now some hail forecast a group of us that always goes from Scottsdale is not going - sad as last year was a blast (and I even won 1st place C2) and we all were looking forward to it. We are making our decision in an hour but 99% sure we are going to cancel going......

I was there for a couple hours. Around noon, it started to get bad and most people left. Some of the lower lying areas in town got flooded pretty good. But a vast majority of the Vettes were gone before that.

They ended up having 293 registered for the show, including 55 from ACE. I took some of the ACE group up Saturday morning and I believe we ended up with about 45 of the 55 showing up. All in all there were probably about 250 cars there. It rained, lightly, off and on during the morning. Around 11:30 the weather service forecasted heavy rain and up to 70 mph wind so the host club called the show off as of noon. Everyone left and I had no rain at all on the way back to Phoenix. They are getting the awards out to the winners this week. To see some of the photos of the show and a video of the flooding on whiskey role that occurred about 2 hours after the show, go to the Prescott Vette Sette website and look for the Car Show link. At least it wasn't hot.

First Rain at Vette Sette Show in 8 Years
This was the first time in 8 years that our show was rained out. At least the heavy rain held off for a while. We showed up at 5AM to get things ready and had, as of a few days earlier, about 286 preregistered. The majority of Vettes arrived before 9 and at 0930 I made a sweep and counted 184 parked. There were a few stragglers after that. We had three sides of Courthouse Square set up for the show and the fourth side, Gurley Street, was being set up for an Octoberfest Event with a band. They were just setting up around 10, so those folks didn't stand a chance with the rain on the way.
