Official doin 3 Sisters on Dec 27th thread
Hey sports car fans. Looking for folks who will be ready to get out of the house after spending Christmas coupled up with that crazy aunt and inlaws. Let's spend a day away clearing our heads and readjusting our attitudes. What we need is someone who knows the roads to lead us thru. We will all converge at the Home Depot in Kerville at 10 AM it's on hwy 16 just off of interstate 10. We are driving down from Plano so thats comfortable time to get there with time to drive at an enjoyable pace
The Corvetteforum Rally Relay Banner will be there as well as the placards for all the cars who come.
Please reply to this thread if you plan on coming and I'll keep a updated list in this top box.

I'm 50/50 right now. Need to check with the boss!
The last time I did the cruise, once we left Boerne we met at the Bent Rim Grill (657 Ranch Road 337 W, Leakey, TX 78873). It has a nice staging area right before the 3 twisted sisters.
We went counter clock wise on roads 336 north to 41, then west on 41 over to 335 where we headed south on 335 to 337. Then back over to the Bent Rim Grill.
there's a facebook page for anyone that is interested.

I'm in. We recently bought a home in Kerville so I'll spend Friday night out there. The 27th is my birthday. What better way to celebrate.

I have never been also. I figure we will stop and eat but one of the folks who have driven it would know where would be good better than me guessing. I know the guys from work who ride it on bikes say they stop for gas and to eat someplace about half way around it.

A little extra fun for the run. We are trying to get the official forum banner down for all who attend in corvettes to sign its coming from Chicago I think b

Cozmo and some other members of the forum did the Twisted Sisters back in October.
Should be good after Christmas since there should be less motorcycle traffic.
I live in Lakeway outside of Austin and as Cozmo says, he has a ranch home 2 minutes outside of Kerrville. I have a route that I'll post. We stopped for buffet lunch about halfway (I think it was Camp Wood, but maybe Cozmo remembers) but its a pretty remote part of Texas, so don't expect anything great.
Kerrville pretty much has everything. We stayed at the YO ranch hotel which is not cheap. But there are other chain motels around there that looked pretty nice.

It's going to be a long day for my son and I. We plan on departing Plano about 4 AM to be to kerrville on time. Then driving home after we are done. He is coming in from Portland so this is our day to goof off.

We did stop in Camp Wood for lunch last time. We stopped at a Mexican restaurant. Not great but decent.
I add this event to the sticky at the top of the page and posted it to a central Texas Corvettes event page on Facebook.

I'd recommending spending the night somewhere after the drive. These roads will wear you out.

I go for the laid back have fun not super detailed kind of runs I.E. FUN We do have a couple of guys who know the road Im sure they would be happy to lead Ill double check with them.
