Default Corvette World's "1st Annual Corvettes Cruisin' Galveston 28 day countdown!!

Hello Everyone!!! Here is an update about Corvette World’s “1st Annual Corvettes Cruisin’ Galveston” . T-shirts are ordered…almost 500 t-shirts were pre-ordered through today. We are on the way to 400 cars pre-registered!!!! We have 240 rooms booked at Moody Gardens, but don’t worry there are still rooms available at “The Galvez Hotel and Spa” on the beach, the “Tremont House Hotel” near the strand, and many other hotels in Galveston. If you haven’t pre-registered at www.corvettescruisingalveston.com please save yourself some time and take advantage of the ease of registering online and have everything waiting for you in one big package when you arrive. This is going to be a great event and thank everyone that has put any kind of time into helping. So for now….Good Bye and LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah….if anyone knows vendors that would like to get space, there is still space available. And just to get your thinking started… I attached a picture of one of 2 neon signs donated by "Del Papa Distributors" (Budweiser) that are first year specific (I sure would like one) and will be up for auction…how cool!!!

Food for thought it may be a good ideal to make plans to hit I45 into Galveston early doing the day on Friday to aviod the bumper to bumper traffic in the afternoon.

chris' last email stated some clubs are meeting at 20760 Gulf Freeway near Webster, Tx and leaving the parking lot at 2:30.

When does traffic start getting bad on I45?

Great show, great gala, thanks Chris for organizing it. Everything was top notch and the weather cooperated. I'm already looking forward to next years show.

What was the final count on cars?

I believe there were total 608 registered cars, but about 80 no shows presumably due to weather concern. All in all great show.

Here are a couple of pictures I took om Z06 and my old Stingray. It was the first opportunity to have both cars side by side.

Did you all get the email from Chris stating that he is being terminated from Corvette World?

What a crappy thing for them to do.

He said to contact him at ctbigchris@aol.com

Sure seems like a bad deal, wonder why the minority owner has the power to fire the general manager.

I haven't heard anything. I did have Mark from MacMulkin give me a call yesterday to follow-up with me and mentioned that he may be coming down for this:

Corvette World's Second Annual Corvettes Cruising' Galveston is being planned as we speak and WILL take place on June 3rd, 4th and 5th. We put this show together to support our five local clubs as well as their specific charities of choice. The fact that all of us Corvette folks get to meet in Galveston is just a wonderful bonus. We look forward to seeing all of you and will post -- VERY SOON -- links and information to get everyone's registration out of the way early. All said, go on ahead and mark all of your calendars for another great time on the beach in June!
