Headed down to SA next weekend. Where do I go to eat and drink while I'm there?

There's plenty. My first recommendation would be Mi Tierra near downtown.

Mamacita's on I-10 between Medical and Callaghan.
Perico's on I-10 or Bandera Rd.
Salsalitos on Bandera Rd.
Mia's on 1604 / Bandera Rd.
Las Palapas On I-10 at Callaghan or new location on 1604 / Hausman.
All depends on where you're staying....

We are staying near the River Walk. I will drive anywhere to get a great meal and margaritas though.

You'll have plenty of choices in the downtown area.
You could also drive to "South Town" on S. Alamo. There's a couple of places there and plenty bars. And they're all within walking distance of each other.

Nobody has recommended Maria Mia. A good friend of mine says that is a must go. Opinions?

That's great everyone. I have more than enough choices to quench my thirst and feed me.
Thanks to all that responded.

Mama Margie's and Taco Cabana. j/k
If you're downtown I'd say Casa Rio or the Original Mexican Restaurant.

Is Piedras Negras still in the south west corner of downtown? If so, it is ratty looking but the bill of fare is excellent. Also, Mi Tierra in the market area is really good.
We trudge on.
