Default Texas Mile

Hi all

Anyone going to the Texas Mile?

I am heading out around 5pm Friday from San Antonio. Maybe we can do dinner down there on Saturday.

Looking at the forecast is looks like it's raining all weekend. Do they cancel the event?

I called the phone number on the Texas Mile website and they have a recording saying that if you're calling about the weather and the event that it is still on.

Default Texas Mile October 2015

We ran Friday and Sunday; late both days...I got in 2 runs each day. They ran at night on Friday but I stopped and did not run at night...did not like the way they had the run and return lit. Best run was my last at 168.7, car is stock.

I was able to run 3 times on Sunday. I still had a good time meeting and having dinner with everyone even with all the rain.

Thanks again for the advice on shifting (I was in the silver base). You fixed my issue going into 3rd and I was able to pull off a 165.9 mph on Sunday. Very pleased with that kind of speed out of a bone stock LS3!

Really sorry, this is an old thread but I never saw your response for some reason, anyway glad I could help you, I wish I could help myself, my speeds are always a few mph off other Z06's...has to be something I am not doing right.

Not going this year, I live in PA now and I would not go back to Beeville anyway, however I am interested in the new venue, if you could post some feedback that would be great, thanks.

Yep, that is the one we were at and I did not like the condition of the track/runway or the return area and not because of the rain. Hopefully the new venue will be much better. I just bought an enclosed race trailer for my Z that I pick up on April 1st, so I will be traveling to some HS events this year. Good luck, hope you have some good runs!

To anyone who ran the Mile, how was the track? And was it run more efficiently than prior events?

I have run only one other time and it was the one with all the rain, so really can't judge to well. Talking with others there it seems like it was the same.
