Default WTB Car hauler

Looking to purchase a car hauler. 18'-20' long, two 3,500lb axles, brakes, 4' dovetail, ramps, preferably metal deck, and as wide and low as possible. Angle iron frames are unacceptable.

Budget is $3,000 depending on brand and options.

Trying to find something in Texas or Oklahoma if possible. I'm in Houston so anything close is perfect. Let me know what you got! And feel free to share with your buddies.

My email is w.e.sheppard@sbcglobal.net if it's easier to contact me that way.

Thanks guys!

Budget is $2,500 depending on brand and options. Might be willing to pay more for an enclosed or tilt deck, but not a whole lot.

I have an enclosed 20' V nose I use to haul my '65 Shelby Cobra replica that I am fixing to put on the market. Price is going to be a couple grand more than your budget figure. If you'd consider, let me know and I'll email you more details and some pictures.

What part of Houston are you in? I am in Cypress.

Might be a little out of my price range, but no harm in at least considering.

I'm up in Conroe/Willis. I'll be down at a buddies house in Cypress this Saturday. If you want I can swing by and take a look at the trailer. Just shoot me a PM or an email and we can figure something out.

I am also looking , but my budget was considerable less than yours ($1500).

You can find what you want all day long on craigslist NEW.

Technically, yes. But I'm not going to pay $2,000 for an angle iron wood deck trailer with who knows what axles and other components.

The cheapest I've seen a quality trailer that uses channel or rectangular tubing and good axles is close to $3,000. If nothing pans out, I'll probably just do that.

Maybe they are more readily available in DFW area (my location)? I see what you want all over craigslist. I've found some in my price range used that were not angle iron frame. Just didnt act quick enough.

I've been looking in DFW as well, and I've found a couple of trailers that might be acceptable.

You really have to be careful when you're looking at Craiglist ads. Half the time the trailer is a POS in person even though it looks good in the ad. I've looked at probably a dozen different trailers so far and been disappointed each time.

I have a metal deck light weight car hauler, dove tail that I will be selling. I have purchased an aluminum one that I am using now. Looking for $1600. Electric brakes work perfectly. Has ramps in the rear that slide out. Could use some paint, But that is about it.

Here are a couple I'm mulling over right now.

https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/for/5386337900.html
https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/grd/5361794741.html

The Kearney is new from their factory. It kind of looks like it's made out of angle iron, but if it's from the factory they should be able to build one with channel pretty easily. Looking at their website I don't see any trailers that aren't channel though, so it might just be the pictures that make it look like angle iron.

I'm going to give them a call later today if I can. I'll let you know what they say.

Ah, good call. I missed that second part. So the main frame is channel but the tongue is angle iron. That's silly. I'll call them and see if they'll do a channel tongue.

I found that information in their catalog. For whatever its worth. Their website didnt give any specifications on each trailer type, just the catalog.

ANd it definitely doesnt make any sense. If their channel is 45'd, then it would make sense that the tongue is made of channel. Otherwise, why 45 it???
