Judge?? Down here the only time you will get to see a judge is, if you plea "Not Guilty" and you will lose 99% of the time. You can pay the ticket by mail, online or go down to the station and stand in line and pay it.

And this is exactly why after only 1 year of new registration (lower tax purposes), I re-registered my 2013 Z06 in another state. The trade off: Texas has front plate laws and stupid large inspection/registration window decals, but cheap registration fees.
Arizona has no front plate law, no emissions check where I am, no stupid window decals, but higher registration fees. The registration fees cost 16% of the vehicle value, decreasing by 16% each year therafter. To reach the low Texas State registration fees, my Vette would have to be close to 15 years old. Some would think the expenses for registeration fees over the 15 year period are well worth the front plate/window decals trade off. It sucks, but it is what it is.

for some reason there is a group in Harris or Dallas counties that simply refuses to accept the simple fact that things have changed. That's fine by me. Its their wallet not mine.

Thanks. I'll not worry about it then. I picked up the stuff for the front plate and will put it on after I get a warning or a ticket.

I've had an 04 coupe (3 years) and now a 00 FRC over the last 10 years and no front plate issues with johnny law..... I figure if I get stopped, $200 bucks will equate to $20 a year..... so far.

Like I said, stop telling people that the sky is falling because you had a bad experience.

I daily my Vette as well and average 1,000 miles a month or so. I've been cross country several times in her (same for my 08 before her). I get pulled over all the time for speeding, never had a ticket, never had a front plate warning.

The last DPS officer I actually cut off in front of an exit after I ran up on him speeding. I get off of tickets because I have a 100% clean record. Literally I've never had a ticket in my life.
Would you prefer crying wolf?

In the past 6 months I've been stopped by DPS twice, a Dallas County Sheriff's Deputy once, and a Ft. Worth PD officer the last time.

Well of course you do. You got a ticket in the Waxer Special, so everyone must be getting tickets. Ask anyone that knows me in person..the streak is well known with local Vette owners. My personal best is 117 in a 60 in NRH. Cop told me he was just making sure I wasn't drunk, then told me he liked the way my car sounds, but please keep it reasonably around the limit. Mentioning that I've not touched a drink in 8+ years probably played into that.
Cops are good people on the whole. If you approach them without pride or attitude you can pretty much get out of anything that doesn't put the lives of others at risk. I don't speed unless I have a wide open road with no other cars around.

It will be interesting to see how long I can go before I get stopped again. Wonder how much the appeal bond for no front plate is ?
