Zip! Judge told me the whole thing is a joke and not worth the courts time. Evidently, the local courts do not get a piece of the pie. It all goes to the state if one is silly and does not contest it.

Great the outcome was in your favor Mike! But, I gotta ask, what was your defense going to be?

Lol I hadn't gotten that far. He had the clerk dismiss it the day I showed up to have an actual trial date assigned to my citation. I am sure the fact that it wasn't for speeding weighed in my favor.

MikeyTX... I love the fight in you. I have given in and mounted a front plate.

The way I look at it is this. Our country was founded by a group of people reacting to what they perceived as an injustice. Namely, the stamp act. Unjustified and the end result, it cost England its colonies. Inasmuch as the surrounding states don't have a front plate, what is the justification for TX other than it being an unjust form of taxation. Does not having a front plate stop law enforcement from stopping speeders ? No ! The toll roads snap a picture of the rear plate. And, motorcycles do not have a front plate. The fact that the only law enforcement body I know of in the state of TX enforcing it is the DPS. Thusly, they have reduced themselves to the role of being the "king's tax collectors" imho.

Another problem with front plates.

I have been running a front plate using a quick remove bracket that I bought from one of CF online vendors. It blocks the center of the front grill. Yesterday I was driving around town in the 100* weather and saw my water temp was running around 220*. I removed the plate and my temps rapidly dropped to around 196*.

I guess that I will try to get away without a plate until Fall.

I have the stock Aero cover on with my plate mounted to it and I overheated in July going up Pikes Peak... At the halfway point my car shut down and I had to wait about 15 minutes for it to cool down. To be fair I was an idiot and had the AC on chasing a very fast GT3 RS and on it hard.

DPS really has way more to worry about than mess with peeps w/o front plates. System needs to be changed so they can't show it on their daily activity summary report. That would put the screws to it fast. Other option would be to assign said trooper to border patrol duty in the valley ...........

25 years, C3 C4 C5 and now C6 running No plate and No issues! When I have been stopped most times the cops are more interested in looking at the car.

both times for me it has been a young trooper. Not long out of the academy and fresh off the leash so to speak. Both times, the court dismissed the citation s.

The Law is not stupid: 38 other states has the same law.

I ended up giving in and fabbing up my own front plate after getting a citation coming out of C&C in Dallas.. while others come out sideways, hitting walls, revving their slow engines, I get stopped for no front plate...? I give!
