Had a great time watching Saturday. Some Vettes there ran close to 190. Fastest I saw was a GTR did 217. Anyone else go?

Didn't go. They told us our entry fee (per day) was for entering "per person" and NOT "per vehicle." ...meaning, if I wanted to make a few passes in our car on Saturday, I HAD to pay for JUST ME. If my wife wanted to make a few passes in our same car, she HAD to pay for JUST HER. Rinse and repeat for Sunday. No thank you. That's such a scam. Turned us totally off to the whole experience. Sorry, but we have better things to spend our money on.

I went on Sat. First time attending much less participating in an event like this. I ran my 67 Corvette convertible. Had it turned way down to see how much traction I could get. Was a little slippery but managed 174-177 MPH.
It was taking ALL of the shutdown area to reel it in....like taking the last exit at about 30-40 mph. So I decided adding power and speed wasn't going to be a good thing if I couldn't stop it and ended up off the end of the runway in the water.
There re was some FAST stuff there. Saw a few nuked engines as welll as a few crashes. When the Lambo lost it at the end I decided I was done. Those folks have skill and a car that actually handles and brakes along with good aero and things still happen. Figured I wouldn't press my luck
I spoke to that GTR owner. He said he lost at least one piston on that run after he turned things up. But seemed to be in a good mood about it!!
Great time overall

Went today until about 2:00 pm, fastest run was a silver GTR. First run we saw was 211, second was 221. Lots of nice cars there no crashes while we watched, but one Z06 looked to lose his motor.

This is a very fun event and is spectator friendly. WANNAGOFAST should have the times posted up in a week or so which is important because you couldn't read the timing slips very well because the printer was printing very light.

Wannagofast is always a good time. People are friendly and you can hot lap on Sunday if youre so inclined. Wish I could have seen 427Hotrod run. Must be a blast in that car. I went 172 on Sunday then drove her back to Houston so its a win in my book.

I was there both days, At least the yellow Vette did not suffer too much damage when it spun off the track. The Lambo was a total loss. VR damaged a lot of engines. The CTSV record was raised a little bit. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks guys. I suppose you don't see old Vette's getting flogged very often.......especially among all the mega-supercars. I had a few folks questioning my sanity! The soft top sure took a beating!!
Here's a video.

Actually we only lost one engine and it was a STOCK long block in our customers Twin turbo Viper TA.. We had a turbo failure in another customers C6Z, but the engine is good to go... Not too shabby for multiple world records and supporting 18 customers over the weekend.

Prior to this event I had only read stories about Vengeance Racing. I had just got my car back Friday evening from a build and new tune. The tune was severely lacking which resulted in a best of 155 on 7 cylinders (NA) I didn't even get a chance to run Nitrous. Upon completion of first run my car threw a CEL and began idling like S***!! I couldn't even keep it running. I approached the guys at Vengeance to see if I could borrow a scan tool or if they could diagnose my CEL... 2.5 hours later they completely went through my car, tune and actually got me to where I could make a few more passes. One injector harness came apart in their hands... My other 3 passes were 153-154... after that I called it a day and limped my car home.
A huge shout out to Ron, Mike and crew... they really took care of me and I am looking forward to seeing them again.
427 hotrod... I had the privilege of watching your passes! WOW! What an awesome Corvette! I spoke with the guy in the red GTR... I believe he was making 2100 rwhp....
For me, I prefer the roll race events at Caddo Mills (Runway Rivalry). I'll look forward to that event in April 17.

AMP just posted this up on their SUNDAY 191.8 run which is a C7 world record by a large margin.

Had a blast, 162MPH on a slipping stock clutch. Took My Jeep SRT out on Sunday for a few runs as well. Jim you're car ran great, nice to see an older Vette out there putting down some good MPH.

It was a great event. Managed to squeeze a 166 out of my old Vette.
Will be back at Runway Rivalry and WannaGoFast next year.
Thanks to Street Car Syndicate for the photo.
