Eastwood - Buyer Beware!
As a long time customer of Eastwood, I have always found their quality and commitment to customer service to be exceptional.
NO LONGER!
I recently ordered several pounds of powder coating powder from them. Interested in trying their newer chrome look plus high gloss clear.
In ALL of their previous catalogues, they make a big point of how they only sell their powder in sturdy plastic bottles which they claim protects the powder from moisture and contaminants. They also point out that their lower grade competitors sell their powder in plastic bags.
WELL...guess what....my order came in plastic bags.
I emailed them about this....no response.
So...today I called customer service. Their response was that is how it comes now and it was not their fault as they did not make that decision. I then gave them the opportunity to make it right by sending me some bottles. He said he could SELL me some bottles but could not send me any free ones.
So....buyer beware!
And if anyone knows of a better source of powder please post it here.
Thanks
Rant over.....lol

Guess we need to get Ernie at Willcox to start selling powder.....

My question is ...does their CURRENT catalog state that the powder is sold in plastic bottles. Because if it is not..... Then if their suppliers has switched packaging....then I can understand that it is not their fault....and it is not their problem to give away plastic bottles.

They trash their competition for using plastic bags and then they go to using them.
That's about as simple as I can make it for you......

But I am sure that a company as big as Eastwood that has new labels made to fit plastic bags ordered the packaging the way they wanted it.
And like I said to the other guy...they trash the competition in their earlier catalog and do the same thing the next year. With no reduction in price.
Did the chance of moisture and contaminants getting into the powder suddenly change because they use a plastic bag?
Get my point?
Maybe I am making a mountain out of a mole hill but this is how lowered standards allowed China to become the primary supplier of all our imports.
We now return you to your regularly schedule broadcast......

How long does it take for you to use up that supply?
If you use it fairly quick, then maybe no deterioration.
Otherwise it is apples and oranges.
Txs for your input.

I feel your disgust...because I have been dealing with this type of crap for a long time now due to so many things are made overseas without any regard to those who have to install it and make sure what they are making will work as what was originally made.
And you can give it up for any price reduction...because it is all about the money.
****OFF SUBJECT***** ( but it kinda relates to this)
In one of the facts/trivia books I have I read where one of the major airlines removed 2 olives from the First Class salads and in ONE year they saved $40,000.
