Which is lighter? Why are the ccw classics considered a drag wheel? Are they lighter?

I think identically sized they are very similar in weight (i.e. w/in a half pound). I wouldn't say the classics are considered a "drag wheel"; they do make a size package specifically suited for drag racing, but a lot of people use (other sizes of CCWs) for road racing, so their application is very broad depending on size, etc.

Oh ok cool. I wonder how much more a 18x12 would weigh in the back compared to 18x10.5?

Wow - just the question I was going to ask! Do you or anyone else have the weight for Z06 Motorsports compared to stock C5? I believe they're heavier, just interested in how much. Apparently it's just enough to throw off the F55 computer so I get random (and harmless) error messages. Thanx.

I had the Motorsports and could feel the exta weight from stock. But I never had any F55 problem. I have since removed the F55 and gone to Z06 springs and Bilstein shocks.

Removed the F55? I presume that means that you left all the electronics in place and just changed shocks? If so, how do you shut off the system so it doesn't keep yelling through the DIC that it's been bypassed?
I don't think I'd get the F55 again (at least not unless its performance is refined and upgraded) but I'm not sure I feel strongly enough about it to opt for major surgery, so to speak.

You don't have to remove the control module (but I did and sold it) then you have the F55 deleted with TechII.

I did it cause I was lowering the car and didn't want to ruin the F55 shocks. They also cost a fortune to replace if they ever go bad. So I got rid of the whole system.....always had it set in sport mode anyways.

Well, in retrospect, I leave it set in Sport all the time now anyway, partly because of the need to damp the (slight) extra weight of the Z06 Motorsports (I should add - in Z06 size = extra inch of width front and back, therefore a heavier tire as well). Except when my wife is riding with me, she insists on the Tour despite the fact I think the ride is floaty on that setting. Oh well, live and learn, but I'd certainly go for the Z51 next time around.
