315's on the front of a C4?
I came across a good deal on some Hoosier race tires. Problem is all 4 are 315/35/17's. Will they fit on the front? The deal is so good, I'll probably get them anyway and just have two sets for the rear if they are too large for the front.
What is the largest 17" size that will fit the front and rear?
Thanks!

I wouldn't do it. I think C4's are max'd out to allow only 275-285, with safe turning capability.

The 315's will fit perfectly on GS 17x11"s on the front. I have been running this combo for the past 2 years on my 89 when I go Autocrossing. Adding some negative camber will tuck them right under. My fronts go right to the edge of the hood, the rears are completely under the car. I run 1.7 neg front and 2.0 neg rear, which is a bit much, but needed for autox. You will only have difficulties if the front is really low, I mean really low, but that is the serious autocrossers who drop them down that far. When it is too low the tires will rub really hard in the hood. Mine is over an inch lower than stock and isn't a problem at all. Good luck, go for it, you will love the ultimate grip of that much tire.

I also have 315 (Pirelli's) on all four 17 x 11 ZR rims on my 1996 LT4.
They were on it when I bought it, and had worn away about 1/2" of the black plastic inner shell on the rear wheel wells, but they clear everything else, and the car is lowered 1". :)

You can run the 315s on the front. I ran 315s on stock 17x9.5s for a short time on my car after I bent a wheel. The scrubbed slightly at full lock. John that ran Onelap of America, and Brian Cunningham run 335/30 18s on the front. :yesnod:

I run the 325/30/18 fronts. They will rub a tiny bit with the wheel locked but no big deal. I run the 335 rears and the car can go around corners. Its a great package.
