Default RE11 vs Cooper RS3-S

I know these two tires normally wouldn't be in the same sentence but basically I've boiled it down to these two. I've been looking for replacement tires for my c5z06 which I autox from time to time, but for the most part it's a weekend car. Thing is I can get a set of RE11 for $1300 while I can get a set of the rs3-s for $600 (275/35/18 front 325/30/19) rear. I know the re11 is a better performer overall, but is it worth this big of a margin. The rs3-s has proven not to be a slouch either as they have been developed specifically for the roush mustang and have proven to outperform the Michelin PS2.

Let me know what u think.

It's not a fair comparison Simply put, the Potenza RE11 will run circles around the Cooper RS3-s.

yes i figured as much from strictly a performance standpoint. I realize tirerack does not carry cooper tires, but have you been able to test these at all?

I needed tires and PSS were not available and on back order for the rear tires. I went with a set of RE11's. When these wear out I will buy again. I use R888 for track days and would not hesitate to use the RE11's if rain was in the picture.

If your going to be autocrossing, I'd go with the Hankook RS-3 v2's. Not only are they a better tire than the tires you have listed, they are tread wear complient for scca rules next year of 200tw. The Bridgestones aren't unless your talking RE-11A. The Cooper tire, well I didn't see anyone winning on them at nationals this year...

Wait, just re read your comment. So your running a c5z06 with c6z06 size wheels? Then your best bet is the regular RE-11. Keep in mind they aren't street tire class legal next season with a tread wear of 180.
