Default For those of you with black wheels...

Do you find that black wheels show more knicks and marks over time than silver or comp gray wheels do? I'm considering getting some black wheels but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger as I'm worried that with black wheels, like a black car, I'd end up agonizing over their finish and any chips would show up much more than on comp gray or silver wheels.

Thanks.

Powdercoat is the way to go. Painted wheels chip easier. The less expensive repro's can chip as well. Remember u get what u pay for.
(I'm looking for nicer wheels myself, I plastidipped my wheels to see if I liked the black look. It's easy to do and peels right off)
Good luck!

Sounds like good ones. Let me know how it goes... Been pricing some HRE and similar wheels, I really don't want to spend $3K. I've got other hobbies too!

i had painted black wheel i did myself with clear coat and they chipped like crazy in one season. Had them powdered and i haven't had a noticeable chip yet. Powder is well worth it.

Congrats!! Welcome to the forum. I also suggest drive it awhile and then let the bug begin. Just make sure you have it protected before anything could happen Good luck 👍
