semi slicks
i have a stock 2000 c5. im led to believe my wheels are 8.5 X 17 and 9.5 X 18. i would like to get street legal semi slicks. (im new to this, i have racing tires on the other car.)
my street tires are 245-45-17 and 275-40-18.
the only semislicks i see are toyo proxies r888 255-40-17 and 275-40-18. according to my calculations the front tire is 8 mm short in radius, which would be similar to a worn tire. however the vendor doens want to guarantee the combo will work with the electronics and i would hate to pay for something that doesnt work.
are there any alternatives out there?
i just want to get semi slicks for a stock c5.

so i got the above r888s. the front tires are 4 mm shorter than the old bridgestones (radius). so far no problems.
any suggestions as to what pressure to start with? im not tracking the car and its hard to get meaningfull temperature readings on the street.

in case anybody is interested in the noise levels (i was a little afraid of this before purchasing):
old potenzas re: 67 dba/95 dbc
r888s: 69 dba/94 dbc
jeep chrokee: 70 dba/95 dbc
at 100 kmh holding meter with right hand.
there is a whine like a bearing that you will hear at lower speeds if you want to hear it. if you accelerate or open the window its gone.
as to traction im not able to comment yet, its so cold they dont reach operating temperature (160°f), but they sure hook better than the old tires in second gear.
how are they on a wet road when its around 0°c? not worse than a regular summer tire.
