Default Easy Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP (MPSS) Mounting

My very competent, local tire shop struggled for 6 hours to get my new Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP tires mounted without success. They tried the Murphy's Tire Mounting Compound discussed in other threads without success. They said it made an ungodly mess and still could not get the tire to seat.

The shop got so frustrated they contacted a friendly competitor and asked if they had any suggestions. The competitor stated they mounted many of the MPSS ZP tires without any issues. My shop took one of my wheels/tires to them and got it to seat in seconds.

They used a silicon based product called Quick Seat Tire Lube. This lube is viscous gel which is lightly applied with a sponge or rag around the bead. My tire guy was amazed. He said using the lube made seating the bead a non event. Said it made it as easy to seat as any "normal" tire. The competitor he went to sells the product so he bought a gallon jug for his shop for $35. Upon returning to his shop he had my other three tires seated within minutes and no mess like you get with the Murphy's lube.
