1982 CE Turbine Wheel, slight corrosion
My 82' CE is virtually perfect on the exterior, but it IS 33 years old, and there is the slightest corrosion on the very outer area of the fins on the Turbine Wheels.
Is this area clear-coated? If so, what would be the best way to correct this slight corrosion, and then re-protect the wheels?
What I envision is taking the finest wet-dry sandpaper, a lubricant, and a sanding block and very lightly wiping the fins to take care of the corrosion.
Obviously, the car will never be out on the roads when there is winter salt, so I don't see corrosion returning quickly, but if there is clear-coat, should it all be stripped off and then re-done?
I am not afraid to tackle this myself, I have cleaned and painted many engine parts on my various cars in the past.
And yes, I've googled this, and cannot get a verified answer about the clear-coat question.
Thanks for any help or info!
