I've autocrossed them in temps that cold. They definitely didn't have as much grip as when warmer, but then neither did anyone else on other tires that day. So in terms of competition, you may not have any problems. And of course they will gain temps if you run them multiple laps on a road course. So it kind of depends on what you exactly mean by "how are these tires."

These are probably not your best choice for just street use. They will wear out much, much faster than "regular" performance tires, aside from the fact that at low temps they won't be working well for you. Depending on what size you need, if you want good performance tires that work well in those temps then considering something like the Continental ExtremeContact DWS.
