Movie What Corvetteforum Members Say
American Graffiti

"One of my favorites"

"32 Ford vs 55 Chevy."

Bullitt

"While it may not be a hot rod movie, the best chase scene was "Bullitt" with Steve McQueen. I was 16 when that movie came out and I think I saw it 6 times at the theater. To my surprise I see that it's out on DVD. There is something to be said for a chase between a Hemi Charger and a HiPro 67 Mustang. If you haven't seen, check it out."

"1968 Mustang GTA 390 vs 1969 440 Dodge Charger RT"

"Best car chase ever."

"Probably the best."

Corvette Summer

"Mark Hammil, Annie Potts? Okay, so it was a summer movie but when I was a kid, I thought that car was awesome and wanted to rebuild a Vette too. Funny, I saw a pic of that same car on the Mid America catalog just last week."

The California Kid

"You want a really cool hot rod movie? Then try and find "The California Kid" This movie starred a young Martin Sheen and IMHO it was terrific."

Days of Thunder "Tom Cruise (stock cars)"
Dirty Mary & Crazy Larry

"This is the one where the train crushed the 440 Magnum Charger in the end. Still it was not a bad movie."

Gone in 60 Seconds

"Good, lots of crashes, I remember that they said that over 100 cars were wrecked during that movie!"

"The movie is being remade now to come out next year. It is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the guy behind the Rock, Con Air, Armageddon, and that old one Days of Thunder. Starring Nic Cage. Confirmed cars for the movie include a DeTomaso Pantera and a Ferrari 550, and I think some old mustang(Shelby maybee). There are supposed to be about 50 cars total. Its coming out next year. I know I'll be in line."

The Gum Ball Rally "1965 427SC Shelby Cobra and lots of others too"
Hard Driver "With Jeff Bridges, some good racing scenes."
Heart Like a Wheel "Great movie. Lots of good drag racing footage and story about Shirley CHA CHA Muldowny"
Hollywood Knights

"Where else can you get the famed Hot Rod Magazines Project "X" and a one armed violinist in the same movie."

"What a funny movie with awesome cars!"

"Another one of my favorites"
