Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
Chrysler began building the 300 series in 1955 as their answer to GM's Corvette and Ford's T-Bird. They had not the resources to build a brand new car, but as they had the Hemi engine that had done very well in racing, they decided to take this engine, punch it out to 300 HP and introduced the Chrysler 300 and went Nascar and Grand National racing, where they did very well. In 1956 they up the engine to 354 cubes and 355 HP giving them the first American car with 1 hp per ci. They also called it the 300 B, thereby starting the letter car series that ran until 1965 with the 300 L. Tom McCahill of Mecanix Ilustrated called them the gentlemen's hot rods with their stock all leather interior, push button torqueflites and 140 MPH top speed, dual 4 barrel carbs, solid lifter cam hemi.
