Attention Grabber

Although we've grown used to seeing C2 Corvette restomod builds, once in a while, we come across one that steals 100% of our attention. It doesn't take more than a glance to realize this 1965 Corvette is a fire-breathing monster. The big blower and air intake sticking far out of the hood, the enormous drag tires in the rear, and the wheelie bar are dead giveaways of this Corvette's true capabilities.

Standing Out From The Crowd

Standing out from the crowd was one of the main objectives of this build. And it certainly does just that. But what's also great about this Torch Red beast is the fact that the classically beautiful lines of the C2 roadster are mostly unaltered. And the build quality is very apparent in the close-up shots of the car, which can be found in the listing.

Thorough Build

The build started with the structure. An Art Morrison 2x4 square tube custom chassis with steel floors and wheel tubs serves as the base for the Pro Street Corvette. A 10-point roll cage is at work, helping improve stiffness and safety. And the reinforced chassis features custom A-arm suspension at the front and a four-link setup at the rear.

Interior Mods

On the inside, much of the C2's original character has been maintained, but the car now features sporty elements to match its new-found power and performance. Here, we find a black and red color combo, with Monaco bucket seats and a  5-point harness. The custom LeCarra steering wheel and the Cheetah shifter residing in the modified center console round off the interior upgrades.

Supercharged Big Block

Perhaps the centerpiece of the project, what powers this C2 Corvette is this 496 ci big block motor with a massive Big Al's Toybox supercharger kit for boost. The powerful V8 features a pair of Holley 4-barrel carburetors, and it is mated to an Art Carr performance built 4L80E 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission.

Putting the Power Down

The supercharged mill's grunt is transferred to the rear wheels courtesy of a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear end with Detroit locker 4.10 gears with Dutchman 38-spline axles. And putting that power to the ground is a set of Weld Racing wheels wearing big-and-little Mickey Thompson rubber, which measures 31x18x15 at the rear. The setup gives the Corvette an ultra-aggressive stance while parked, and makes for some epic wheelie action on the drag strip.
