Cold Air Intake

Cold air intakes are designed to funnel in air from outside the engine bay. They also include high flowing air filters. The result is a cooler intake temperature that can increase horsepower by 10-20.

Exhaust

Exhaust systems include mufflers, catalytic converters, and headers. Gains of 15-25 hp can be made when modifying your entire exhaust. Depending on the type of muffler you choose, engine sound can be increased to your liking. Check to see if the exhaust you decide to purchase meets E.P.A. requirements.

Computer Reprogramming

Reprogramming allows you to fine tune your engines air/fuel ratio and adjust timing among many other features. When properly calibrated, owners can see horsepower gains over 30. There are a large number of programmers to choose depending on your price point. Remember to check whether your states laws allow computer programming.

Rear Gear Ratio

The rear axle gear ratio calculates to the amount of times your driveshaft turns in relation to your wheels. For example, a C5 Corvette factory gear ratio is 3:42. If you wanted to improve your acceleration, you could switch to a 3:73 or 4:10, but top speed will be reduced.

Electric Fan

For those corvette owners with belt driven fans, an electric version will reduce drag on the engine and free up horsepower. Electric type fans allow you to control when the fan turns on and off, making it easy to keep your coolant temperature at normal levels.
