6 Corvette Owners Who Clearly Once Owned Mustangs

Corvettes are beautiful cars, and their owners obviously have great taste. But as these cars prove, some Corvette owners must have once owned Mustangs.

1. Lifted Corvette

Straight from some guy's maniacal mind comes this Frankenstein of a Corvette. Clearly built by a former Mustang owner (it has Ford mud flaps, after all), this lifted Corvette features tons of custom touches. Like the diamond plate custom fenders and roll bar. Obviously a ton of fiberglass cutting was required to fit those massive meats under the fenders. And the quality of this ride is at least a little higher than most. But the question remains....why?

2. Lifted Corvette, Pt. 2

Unlike our first example, it appears that this lifted Corvette at least gets a little dirty from time to time. It's just one of many Corvette bodies out there that have been mated to a Jeep or other four wheel drive chassis. For those who love the sleek lines of the Corvette but need off road ruggedness to go with it, this is the perfect combination. Or, you could just buy a four wheel drive vehicle to park next to your Corvette. Either way, we're pretty sure this idea came from a Mustang owner.

3. Corvette Ricer

This particular 'Vette might be the ugliest, tackiest thing you'll ever see. Full of parts that were professionally installed using nothing more than double-sided tape, the ricer Corvette is a rolling eye sore of the highest degree. Everything you don't want to stick on a Corvette is here - from the Ferrari F40 body kit to Buick-like portholes on the front fender.

4. Disco Did This

Lots of good things came out of the 70's, but tasteful fashion isn't one of them. Corvettes like this one, with horrific body conversions and gaudy paint, were everywhere back then. But while driving a Corvette that looks like this one back then made you cool, it doesn't have the same effect today. Some looks stand the test of time, but others (like this one) should be allowed to die in peace.

5. Camarovette

What you're looking at might be the ugliest vehicle to ever set foot on any road. The "Camarovette" is so named because it appears to have a Corvette back end mated with a Camaro front end. Not as obvious is what the heck the builder was thinking when he pieced together this jigsaw of a ride. The "aerodynamics" consist of spoilers mounted on top of spoilers, which should result in incredible downforce. Hopefully enough to bury it forever, away from the eyes of the innocent.

6. Corvette V7

Everyone is excited about the forthcoming C8, which might finally be the first mid engine 'Vette. But the Corvette V7 beat it to the punch. With a twin turbo LS pumping out 1,000 horsepower, the project looks cool on paper. But, the design is so, so wrong. The attempt to make this thing look like an old 60's Stingray fails miserably as the rear end extends out for roughly a mile. Clearly this was done to make room for the mid ship mounted powertrain, but it also makes the V7 look like a stretched out Karmann Ghia.
