7 Off-roading Corvettes

There is an interesting subset of Corvette enthusiasts that enjoy taking this sporty model and grafting it to the bones of a 4X4 frame. Let's check out some of these, err, interesting combinations.

1. Towering Terror

This heavily modified C3 was found up in Minnesota, where a snowmobile may be more useful than a sports car, just trying not to be seen behind that building. The Corvette is equipped with a lift, large BF Goodrich All-Terrain A/T's, dual pipes coming from the rear and tubular bumpers. We checked, and the C3 Vette has a wheelbase very similar to many Jeeps and the Chevy S10 Blazer, which explains these crazy projects a little.

2. Mud Slinging Stingray

This Corvette was spotted back in 2012 at the Spring Mud Bog in Port Huron, Michigan. The dirty, dirty Vette appears to be missing shocks, and the driver missing his sense of self preservation as he bounces it through the mud with reckless abandon.

3. Big wheel C3

Is this the hybrid that secretly everyone wants? This C3 era of Corvette is the one we've seen the most grafted onto 4x4 bodies. Sleek sports car lines combined with the versatility that comes with an off-road setup could be just what the apocalypse doctor ordered.

4. Soaring Stingray C3

Do you have a need in your life for a monster trar? Have you ever looked at a sea of brake lights and fantasized about putting the car in gear and climbing over the curb, or right over the other cars setting out to freedom? If you yes said to either of these questions then you should keep an eye on Craigslist for when another one of these off-road Vettes pops up for sale, like this one did for $15,000. The C3 has a tunnel ram intake that sticks through the hood helping the 4X4 get plenty of cool air around town on various paved and unpaved roads.

5. Lofty Sunshine C3

Is there anything more American than this 1976 4X4 Corvette? This T-top, cargo rack, yellow and chrome Corvette went up for sale at the price of $8,000 but I don't know if anyone took the plunge on this. I suspect by looking at the car (way too intensely for my own good) that it could possibly have been a Bronco under there or perhaps a Toyota SR5?

6. Elevated C1

How do you get to greatness? Take one part American classic and one part lifted southern chest hair and you get this C1. This is the perfect car to go to work in and then take a crazy ride home thru the mud, as well as pissing off drive through fast food employees who have to get your food up to you.

7. Rough-Ride Ready C2

This C2 is pretty rad actually, and I think it would be pretty cool to ride around in it during a zombie apocalypse. There's just something about this car that makes me picture Negan and his trusty Lucille, riding around together, making all sorts of trouble for Rick and his crew on The Walking Dead. Nevertheless, this 4x4 car would do just fine in our current times for anyone for the penchant for something different when they're going off-road.
