Have You Had Your Corvette Blessed? (Photos)

No matter if you are a pious Christian or a non-practicing Jew, getting the high power sports car you trust your life to blessed by a man of God certainly can't hurt. With the way some people drive, we need all the help we can get out there.

1. Blessing of the Vettes

The "Blessing of the Vettes" just happened again for the fourth year in a row. The event was organized by a collaboration between the Villege Vettes Club, and 12 others from around Florida. If you're from the area, you should come and show off your car and maybe get your Corvette blessed next year. Typically the event takes place late in March, and this past year it was hosted by George Nahas Chevrolet on State Road 44 in Wildwood, FL.

2. The Pastor

In order for something to be blessed you need a man (or woman) of the church, and the Village Vettes found just the guy for the task. At the fourth annual Blessing of the Vettes, the blessings were conducted by Pastor Norman Lee Schaffer, who is also a contemporary gospel singer who has opened for many popular groups in concert. Now only did he administer the blessing, he also served as the emcee and entertainment. The blessing won't transfer via YouTube, but if you'd like to see Norman's high energy style, you can watch this video.

3. The Event's History

With only four years of history, the event is sure gaining some traction. What started as a small gathering included more than 177 Corvettes in 2017. Most Corvette owners don't need a reason to get together with their cars and other owners, but this event also includes an auction, and a raffle. All proceeds go to charities from around Central Florida too, so it isn't just you and your car that is likely to benefit from the blessing.

4. The Entertainment

Besides Pastor Norman, The event attendees were entertained by The Villages Twirlers, a team of baton twirlers from Central Florida that performed their routines for the crowd. Playing to accompany them was the Drum Corps, performed medleys of patriotic tunes, and backing up Pastor Norman.
