Michelin Presents Wallpaper Wednesday: Corvettes Wave the Flag
Rumor has it that every July Fourth, the magical explosions inside a Corvette’s combustion chambers are allowed to play in the night’s sky above cities and towns across the United States.
I bet there’s no one that’ll be celebrating this Fourth of July weekend more than George Talley, and rightfully so. The GM retiree’s 1979 Corvette was stolen 33 years ago, but Talley was recently reunited with his long-lost friend at General Motors’ world headquarters in Detroit.
Maybe Godzilla isn’t the big behemoth to beat after all. In this battle against a twin-turbo C6 Corvette, the Nissan GT-R, nicknamed after the towering monster, seemed far less superior.
The concerns over some past safety issues that have come back to haunt GM are pushing the carmaker to make sure everything is now up to snuff, which has spawned another recall on the 2014 Corvette.
Earlier this month, “akn224’s” pre-teen dream became a reality when he purchased his first Corvette: a 2004 C5 with only 29,000 miles … not even broken in, if you ask me.
