Corvette Racing Honored as 2013 Team of the Year
Corvette Racing roars into Long Beach this weekend for the Tequila Patrón Sports Car Showcase with one nice win already under its belt. The team, looking to find its groove for the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, was recently named RACER Magazine’s 2013 Team of the Year in worldwide motorsports. The editorial team of the popular racing publication selected Corvette Racing for the award based on the team’s winning the 2013 American Le Mans Series GT championship.

After weeks of circling the rumor mill, General Motors has made it official: the Corvette Stingray will be offered with an eight-speed automatic transmission for 2015. Designed and built by GM in-house, the automaker says the new transmission will deliver world-class shift times that will rival some of the best dual-clutch systems on the market, all while delivering better fuel efficiency.
I have to admit, I’ve always been partial to any story about a U.S. veteran’s love for his or her American automobile. To me, these two things represent a lot of the stuff that makes America great. With a couple of weeks before the New York auto show opens, we’re getting wind that Chevrolet has plans for unveiling a new Corvette at the show. The carmaker apparently will be making three big debuts in the Big Apple for the April 16th event, with one being a new variant of the Corvette.
