instead of purchasing a "strut rod knocker" tool and having to wait for delivery,i have found that if you simply buy another nut that threads on the rod end and about a 1 1/2 inch bolt(length) of the same diameter,one can achieve the same results. simply,put your new nut 1/2 way on the rod and thread the new bolt in,snug it down. apply liberal amounts of penetrating oil and pound with a good size hammer. i've used this "tool" several times and the cost was $1.60.
