Battle of the Looks: Corvette Z06 vs. Mercedes SL65 Black Series
We have a new member to the Corvette Forum community, and considering he has one of the coolest C7s around, I thought it would be nice to say hello. JBZ joined in July, and he immediately began to share pictures of his stunning C7 Z06. With black wheels on black paint, tinted windows, the full aero package, a lowered stance and a massive wing out back, it looks like a car ready to race in hell.
But it seems this Z06 is not his only murdered-out machine. A couple of eagle-eyed readers noticed that parked in the garage is also a very rare and special Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series. As one of the meanest and angriest machines that Mercedes-Benz has ever made, JBZ should feel right at home stepping into the Z06. It does beg the question, though: which car do you think is cooler?
Is the new Corvette Z06 with all its wild upgrades enough to beat the limited-run Mercedes? On the performance level, the Corvette beats the Benz: the Chevy is a few hundred pounds lighter compared with the SL65 AMG Black Series, which offers only 11 more horsepower than the ‘Vette. In the looks department, I think this Corvette is a way more awesome thing to look at, but that Mercedes has that classic German feel that is sinister in its simplicity.
