C4 Corvette ZR-1: Does High Mileage Ruin It?

Don’t be scared of the high mileage. Be envious.

Instead of being taken aback by the mileage of this C4 Corvette ZR-1, it’s better to be happy that someone was able to enjoy all those glorious miles in GM’s own King of the Hill. With power on tap that would even make most modern cars blush, this ZR-1 now finds itself for sale, with an odometer currently reading 131,500 miles.

If those miles are something you hope to accomplish one day, you can pick up this example rather cheaply. It’s not perfect, sadly, but seems to us that a weekend or so of work would bring you a great driver’s example. Besides, a stone chip here and there only adds to the fact that this car is, and should continue to be driven. In fact, we hope the new buyer tries to get it to the 200,000-mile mark.

Priced at $9,999, this is one of the least expensive C4 Corvette ZR-1s
we’ve ever come across.

Running condition is described as excellent, giving a great base to start with. TLC is recommended, though. An inoperative passenger window switch and tattered driver’s seat bolster are tolerable in the short-term, but an errant tachometer and the need for new rear tires are of more immediate concern.

A trickier fix might be an A/C system which needs to be recharged. Priced at $9,999, it is one of the least expensive C4 Corvette ZR-1s we’ve ever come across, and if you’re in for adding more mileage, this one looks to be a great deal.
