Corvette Z06 C7.R Special Edition Order Listed for $115,000 on eBay

I can’t see why anyone in their right mind would ever fall for this purchase, but then again, I guess money doesn’t necessarily require people to think everything through. If so, that certainly would’ve nipped this eBay listing in the bud, long before it was sold.

The idea that even a diehard Corvette fan would pay $115,000 for the new C7.R Special Edition, which is nothing but a Z06 with a side of RICE (Race-Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements) is beyond us here at Corvette Forum. The car is pretty much a dressed-up Z06 with a few racing details, as Christian Moe explained in an earlier post.

That $115,000 is the actual MSRP for the C7.R Special Edition, but the eBay auction was for the dealer’s allocation of the car, not the car itself, according to a GM Authority report. With only 500 units being made, I’m betting there will be someone willing to pay well over $115,000 for a C7.R Special Edition, considering some people are taken by anything bearing a Corvette badge, even if the purchase doesn’t seem all that logical. But, let’s step back for a second. Who in their right mind would pay markup on a C7.R Special Edition?
