Judging by the early response to the Corvette E-Ray, it seems as if many folks are pretty excited about the electrified sports car.

Revealed a long time ago, the recently-launched 2023 Corvette Z06 is still one of the hottest entities on the new vehicle market, thanks to high demand and precious little supply. It will likely be years before demand for the C8 Z06 cools off, but in the meantime, it isn’t alone in the world of hyped-up new models – following the recent debut of the Corvette E-Ray, it’s also proving to be a desirable product, prompting quite a few folks to line up and camp out at Corvette mega dealer MacMulkin Chevrolet this week, according to WMUR news.

Folks started lining up at the Nashua, New Hampshire-based dealership on Monday night to secure their place in line for a new Corvette E-Ray – many of them CorvetteForum members. In fact, many of them took to the forums to post pictures and discuss their experience, which – in spite of the obvious chaos of the situation. was handled masterfully by MacMulkin, no surprise given the fact that it’s the largest Corvette dealer on the planet, as well as an active participant in the forums.

Regardless, it’s interesting to note just how many people are enthused about the Corvette E-Ray, which is the very first hybrid version of the iconic sports car – not to mention the first electrified model, period. Many felt like the E-Ray wouldn’t quite live up to the hype of the Z06 and its screaming flat-plane crank V8, but early signs are certainly positive, at least judging from the folks that lined up outside of this dealership in freezing temps just to secure their spot in line – now knowing when they might actually take delivery.

“I’ve been in the retail auto business for 20 years,” said Tony Dillberg, sales manager at MacMulkin Chevrolet. “I’ve never seen customers wait outside overnight from any vehicle. We’ve got predicted temperatures down in the teens tonight, so we’re trying to have people standing by to help out and make sure that everybody’s safe.”

Meanwhile, quite a few others have sent deposits into MacMulkin to get their names on the list as well, a boon for the dealer that was able to start taking them before others, thanks to its status as the top Corvette dealer in GM’s network.  “Just to clear the air for everyone, we are adding all mail-in deposits to the deposit list in the order that they are received by carrier,” the dealer wrote in this thread. “We are also taking the national FedEx delay into consideration! We are working hard to provide everyone their number on the list as soon as possible! We appreciate your support and patience!”
