Can You Guess the Most Popular C8 Corvette Color Choices & Trim Levels?

By -

Over 25% of soon-to-be C8 owners ordered Torch Red 2020 Corvettes.

Have you ever wondered what other people are ordering for their C8s? What colors are the most popular? What trim levels people are choosing? Maybe what options people are not selecting? Kerbeck Corvette, one of the largest Corvette-focused Chevy dealerships in the U.S. released some very useful data in this regard. They took a sample of the 240 orders they received for the C8 to show us just exactly what people are and aren’t ordering for their new mid-engined Chevy.

While this data is useful and can have some insight into the current C8 market, it shouldn’t be used as a frame of reference for all dealerships. At the end of the day, it is best to take this information with a grain of salt. This is just the information from one of hundreds upon hundreds of dealerships sprawled across the country. Thanks to Daily Downshift on YouTube, we get to hear these details ourselves.

Favorite Colors

To start, we learn about the hottest question of them all: what color are people choosing for their Corvette? Well, this one might be easy: Torch Red. Over “25% of customers” chose this particular color. We understand why, Corvettes look damn good in red. Arctic White comes in second at 12.5 % and Elkhart Lake Blue with 10.8%. Last place? Zeus Bronze Metallic. Only 2 of 250 soon-to-be C8 chose this color, however, we are still unsure why. Initially, we believe it was probably due to its reserved nature. However, extremely bright colors like Rapid Blue and Sebring Orange also didn’t receive many orders either, leaving us unsure. The host of the video, waiting for his Sebring Orange C8, stated he was “shocked” by the lack of orange color builds. He believes the car pops at every angle in this particular color and we agree.

Trim Levels & Average Price

The trim level data is not nearly as constructive or useful as the color data due to the way these initial pre-release runs work. However, we can say that 3LT trim packages made up 45% of the orders while the 2LT made up 42.9% of the orders. That leaves less than 12% of the orders being a base 1LT package. The most interesting data point from this dealership is actually the last. The average price of a pre-order C8. This comes out to be $79,275 before taxes.
