The 2011 Corvettes at Carlisle event is right around the corner, August 26-28 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds. Annually, this event yields one of the largest fields on the schedule and provides some of the best entertainment with a Fun Field, Corvette Giveaway and Corvette Parade. Now, 2011 is even more exciting with the addition of Carlisle Blue to the Corvette palate of colors. Because of that, Corvettes at Carlisle is calling you!

At this year’s event, anyone with a Carlisle Blue Corvette will be eligible for special recognition. The recognition includes FREE Fun Field access, a common Fun Field space with other Carlisle Blue owners, FREE access to the Corvette Parade and a prime spot near the front of it. In addition, Carlisle Blue owners will be recognized in a special ceremony prior to the ever popular burnout competition.  For Carlisle Blue registrants ONLY, e-mail JodiM@CarlisleEvents.com or call 717-243-7855 ext. 113.

It’s not too late to pre-order a Carlisle Blue Corvette to have in time for the event. According to Harlan Charles, Chevrolet Corvette Product Marketing Manager, ?pre-orders have been placed for the Carlisle Blue color and regular production starts June 20.?  Charles added that ?production will ramp up after that with full availability in August.?

This production schedule means one thing – you can, will and should have your very own Carlisle Blue Corvette in time for the 30th Anniversary of the event. With Corvettes at Carlisle falling in late August, it’s well after the 4th of July and just before Labor Day; however, everyone on site can revel in a multi-colored sea of Corvettes, ranging from red to white to Carlisle Blue and everywhere in between.

?The Carlisle Team considers it a great honor to have a Corvette color named after us,? said co-owner Lance Miller. ?This is a once-in-30-year distinction and we’ll have a couple of unique ?twists and turns? during this year’s event to show that we’re excited!?  Miller concluded by encouraging everyone ?not to miss this fun-filled event. The enthusiasm is just beginning.?

In addition to the Carlisle Blue Corvettes that enthusiasts bring on site, General Motors will have a large display of Carlisle Blue cars, including a special one designed just for the event. In what can be seen in part as a tribute to the late Chip Miller and his family, Charles noted that ?Carlisle Blue is influenced from the slivery blue colors of the Sting Ray era. Given that this is the 30th Corvettes at Carlisle, we thought it was appropriate to name a color after the town where thousands of classic Corvettes are on display annually.?

At Corvettes at Carlisle, more than 5,000 cars covering all eras of production will converge on the Carlisle Fairgrounds and thousands of attendees will take part in an event that the entire family can enjoy. The 2011 event will feature a 1991 ZR1 giveaway, courtesy in part of www.AllVette.net. Corvettes at Carlisle is one of the largest and most fun-filled events of its kind in the world and whether you spend a few hours or the entire weekend in Carlisle, you will enjoy special Corvette displays and anniversaries featuring concept, performance and historically significant vehicles that are second to none.
