Classic 1982 Corvette Is Quite the Star in Iceland

There’s no question that the 1982 Corvette is a classic piece of American automobile history. But it’s hardly a model that we’d consider rare.

However, if you live in a place like Iceland, it’s apparently as rare as cars come. That makes this white C3 owned by Sigfús B. Sverrisson, who lives in Iceland, an extra-special machine. The story of the white Corvette and its owner is the centerpiece of the beautifully-shot Petrolicious video below.

Sverrisson, a self-described car buff, says he first became interested in Corvettes when visiting America with his mother after they stopped at a Howard Johnson’s for an ice cream float.

“It looked like it was going 200 miles an hour,” recalls Sverrisson. “I had never seen anything like it.”

It would be 10 years later before the car enthusiast would buy his first Corvette. But at the time it was one of only two in Iceland.
