Corvette Owner Slaps Ferrari Badge on a C8, Hilarity Ensues

C8 Corvette with Ferrari Badge

The Ferrari comparisons regarding the C8 Corvette are taken to new heights, forum members are beside themselves.

A few months ago, the C8 era of the Corvette started at last. Since then, the mid-engine ‘Vette’s been a hit with new and old fans alike. After all, it’s unlike any other car out on the road right now. An American sports car, with an engine in the back, for under $60,000 to start? Who wouldn’t love that?

Of course, there are those who love to point out how much the C8 looks like those red Italian stallions from Maranello, much to everyone else’s annoyance. That said, such comparisons aren’t lost on everyone. One CorvetteForum member found a C8 with a Ferrari badge.

“Man some people waste no time,” wrote the original poster, forum member Mr Triple Black. Sure enough, a red C8 was caught wearing a yellow shield with a black stallion slapped on the front fender. Turns out it’s not the first a ‘Vette’s worn such a thing, either. Houston Z33 posted the above C7, in red, with the same badge. He added that he was “shocked it took this long tbh.”

[UPDATED: As we discuss in this video, the original photo was pure trolling by Daily Driven Exotics, although some of our forum members missed the point because there’s a longish history of Ferrari-on-Corvette badges. Either way, hilarious.]

“It’s funny how C8 fans are outraged over this, yet this is essentially what GM themselves did,” said paracord. “They had a classic American original and turned it into a generic copy of a European sports car. Sad.”

Thrill444 defended the C8’s appearance, though. As has been stated before, the final front-engined Corvette took performance as far as the foundation would allow. He said the mid-engine placement of the new ‘Vette “opens up lots of opportunities for GM now, and you better believe future variants of the Z06, Grand Sport, and ZR1 will take Corvette to new levels in terms of price to performance.”

Meanwhile, Mr Triple Black felt sad for the C8’s owner. For him, the Ferrari badge “proves people want things they can’t afford but don’t appreciate what they can afford. A Corvette is an amazing car […] Be happy you’re lucky enough to afford such an awesome car.”
