Headlines across the nation have touted the extraordinary sum of money that you could win if you nailed all the numbers in a recent lotto drawing. Overnight, one lucky winner would go from average joe to having half-a-billion dollars in their checking account. As flights of fancy, we usually think about what we’d do if such luck fell upon us. And one Corvette Forum member asked an important question: Would a Corvette still be your #1 pick for a set of wheels? A surprising number of folks said, “absolutely.”

That’s not to say that a few other exotics wouldn’t join that Corvette in the garage, or that it would be your average, run-of-the-mill Corvette. No, these would-be lottery winners are talking split-window coupes, big-block C3 drop tops, and fuelies. One forum member even made a list of 13 Corvettes just to make sure that the Porsches and Aston Martins in his “collection” wouldn’t be lonely.
Unlike the recent Corvette Forum thread about the dream cars of C1 and C2 owners, this one seems to be all about machines that are a bit more modern. Hypercars and supercars are quite prolific here, while in that other section of Corvette Forum, they’re called “pasta rockets.” We see that wide range of taste as a beautiful thing.
