Corvette Z06 Has a Bad Day on the Nurburgring
At the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife, your day can go one of two ways. First, it could go absolutely awesome because you’re running the Green Hell, a place that has so much motorsport history that it fills your entire soul and makes you feel like you’ve entered paradise on earth. Or secondly, the more frequent way at the Nurburgring, your day can go terribly, terribly wrong. Which is what happened to this poor C6 Corvette Z06.
As you can see in the video below, the Corvette Z06 understeered into the first turn, put itself on the grass, then waits to reenter the racing circuit. It’s the proper thing to do. However, you’re never alone on the Nurburgring, ever, and that’s when things go from a mild ego crushing moment to a what the hell just happened moment.
While the driver is waiting to get back onto the circuit, a Renault Clio comes in entirely too hot, misses the turn, and slams not only into the back of the Corvette Z06, but also into the barrier walls on the track. It’s not known as the Green Hell for nothing.
