Corvette Z06: a Supercar You Can Actually Buy

By -

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Whether or not you classify the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 as a supercar or not, you can’t argue with the performance. The run to 60 occurs in less than three seconds from a supercharged engine making 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. And guess what, it’s still one of the only high performance cars you can buy right now!

What do I mean?

2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

Take a look at the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats. Making 707 horsepower is an appealing prospect, but FCA US recently stopped taking new orders for the car to catch up on the backlog. Yes, they’re going to open up an additional 1,000 slots, but there’s no word on when that’ll actually occur.

We also don’t know how long Dodge will even make the car available. There’s no word on how many model years will be produced, with some questioning if it’ll be more than a few.

All-New Ford GT

The Ford GT’s details are still getting worked out. Ford hasn’t decided who will get the car, but they’re only planning on approximately 250 each year. Of course, it’ll have a $400,000 price tag.

And on the subject of price, if you start looking at the normal performance stalwarts, such as Porsche or McLaren, you’ll be seeing a price tag that’s at least $100,000 more expensive for similar performance.

Not only does the Corvette Z06 offer an exceptional value per dollar, but it’s also a car that you can walk into a dealership and order today, and actually expect to receive it in a timely fashion.
