C4 Corvette Crashes Into Albuquerque Bread Shop

The old ?I hit the accelerator instead of the brake? trick resulted in an unusual sight in Albuquerque on Monday: the rear end of a Corvette sticking out the front window.

Seems a senior citizen in her white C4 Corvette pulled that stunt as she was driving into the parking lot of the Great Harvest Bread Company on Montgomery Boulevard and Juan Tabo Boulevard N.E. in the El Dorado Square Shopping Center.

Well, at least the shopping center has a General Motors name.

Fortunately, the driver wasn’t hurt, and neither were five employees inside the store. Unfortunately, one customer was injured, though he is expected to be OK.

?I was trying to park slowly,? the driver explained to KOB Eyewitness News 4. ?I must have been pushing the gas pedal instead of the brake. I don’t know, all of a sudden I see my car getting in the store.?

No word on whether the store already had a drive-through window, but obviously it does now!

The Corvette driver won’t be cited by police because the accident happened on private property.

The store was slated to reopen the next day, probably with temporary repairs, but we don’t know the extent of the damage to the Corvette.
