First C7 Corvette ZR1 Sold to a Retail Customer up for Sale With $259K Price Tag
After the first three were sold to VIPs, this is the first C7 Corvette ZR1 sold to a retail customer and equipped with a manual.
As most Corvette fans are well aware, the first of anything is incredibly valuable, whether that be a vehicle made in a particular model year or a very special, limited-edition, or performance-focused model. That was certainly true of the first C7 Corvette ZR1, which was sold at auction to Rick Hendrick for a cool $925,000, while the second and third examples were also sold to very important customers, it seems. Thus, that makes this Sebring Orange car up for grabs at Whitmoyer Automotive Group the fourth one built and the very first C7 Corvette ZR1 sold to a retail customer.
Of course, something so notable isn’t exactly being sold at a discount, as the asking price for this particular car is a rather substantial $259,998. But then again, the C7 ZR1 was a one-year-only machine that’s quite special in the Corvette world, not to mention rather valuable, with prices climbing significantly in recent months. Having the first retail example, well, that’s also quite a cool distinction for one to enjoy as well.
That isn’t the only notable thing about this particular car, however, as it’s also the first C7 Corvette ZR1 built with a manual transmission, since the three VIPs opted for an automatic in each case. It’s also the first one equipped with the Sebring Orange Design Package, and it’s sporting the other desirable option for this particular car – GM’s ZTK Package and it’s memorable rear wing and other go-fast goodies.
With just 3,454 miles on the clock, this ZR1 is also barely used and presents in like-new condition from every angle. On its own accord, it’s a pretty special and cool car, but throw in the fact that it’s the first one sold to a customer and the first equipped with a manual transmission – particularly since the C8 is auto-only – and it goes without saying that this car belongs in someone’s notable collection. Whether or not anyone is willing to pony up to bring it home remains to be seen, but we don’t doubt that it will happen soon.
